Terms
Plain English. This is what using PleaseWhere means. Last changed 4 October 2026.
What this app does
PleaseWhere turns your address into one link. The link shows a driver your pin, photos, and directions so they can find you without guessing. It does not replace an emergency address or a legal address on file with any authority.
Your data, and where it is kept
When you create an account you tick one box. It says: “I agree that PleaseWhere stores my email, addresses, photos and voice notes on servers in Germany (Hetzner) and Cloudflare, protected by a data-processing agreement, and that I can delete everything from Settings at any time.” That is the consent Nigeria’s Data Protection Act asks for before your data is stored outside Nigeria. We record the date you ticked it and which version of the sentence you saw. If we ever suffer a data breach we tell the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours, and we tell you if it puts you at risk. The privacy page says exactly what is stored, by whom, for how long, and how to see, export or delete it.
Your content
You are responsible for the photos, voice notes, and text you add. Do not add anything that is not yours to share, or that could put someone else at risk.
Sharing a link
Anyone who has your link can open your address page. Turning a link off, or making a new one, stops the old link from working. Sharing your own link is your choice — we do not send it to anyone on your behalf.
Household
The Household add-on lets up to 5 people, you included, share your addresses. Each member signs in with their own email. Members can see your addresses and make or turn off 24-hour links. Members cannot change anything: they cannot edit an address, add or remove photos, make permanent links, or delete the account. Only the owner can. You can remove a member at any time from Settings; a member can leave at any time. When the add-on runs out, members keep read-only access for 14 days, then they lose it until you renew.
Reports and takedowns
Anyone who opens an address page can report it, without signing in: not a real address, an offensive photo, a private person’s home shown without permission, a scam, or something else. When 3 different people report the same page, the page is hidden and shows “This page is being checked” until a person on our team looks at it. That is the only automatic step: nothing is deleted and no account is blocked by a report alone. We then either put the page back or take it down. We can also take down any page or photo that breaks these terms, or that a court, the police, or a hosting provider lawfully requires us to remove.
Free plan and renewal
Every account holds 1 location free, with no end date. A paid plan lets you hold more locations. It runs for one year from the day you pay, and does not renew by itself — we do not charge your card again without you coming back to pay. If a paid plan runs out, nothing is deleted: your oldest locations, up to what your plan now holds, keep working, and the newer ones pause until you choose a plan again or delete one.
Plans
The free plan covers one location. Paid plans cover more locations under one account and include analytics and your own link name. The Household add-on lets several people share one account. Prices and limits are shown on the Plans page, and read from the same place the app charges you — never a different number.
Business listing approval
Applying to list your address publicly does not make it public right away. A person on our team checks the application first, and only an approved listing gets a verified badge and appears in search at /find. We can reject or remove a listing that is wrong, misleading, or not a real place.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This removes your addresses and everything attached to them for good.
Changes
We may update these terms as the app changes. Continuing to use PleaseWhere after an update means you accept the new terms.
